President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker called on all regional directors of the Authority to plan efficiently for the next elections of the National Council of Regions and Districts.
This includes calling on voters to verify their data related to their polling stations and their electoral constituency, update the electoral register, receive applications “so that elections take place with full transparency and attract the largest number possible of voters.”
Bouasker, who chaired a remote meeting with the ISIE regional directors, stressed the need to shed light on cases of electoral crimes committed during the Referendum of July 25, 2022 and the legislative elections of December 2022.
The ISIE President also called on the regional body to devise a communication plan so as to increase awareness of the legal framework governing the elections of members of the National Council of Regions and Districts.
He also insisted on the need to provide accurate and updated information as well as establish a partnership with civil society active in the electoral field.
The meeting was attended by ISIE Deputy-president Naoufel Frikha, ISIE member Mahmoud el-Ouaer and ISIE Executive Director Ridha Missaoui.
