Eden Cluster crime combatting operations yields excellent successes

WESTERN CAPE – Efforts to safeguarding communities against serious and violent crimes yields excellent successes when police removed items which threatens the safety of communities from the streets during deployment in crime ridden areas during this weekend.

Yesterday, Pacaltsdorp Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) members embarked on targeted operations in Pacaltsdorp, George and arrested 10 suspects, aged between 26 and 47 for dangerous weapons. The vigilance of the members led to the confiscation of an assortment of knifes and pangas.

On Friday, 10 June 2022 Eden Cluster Crime Combatting Team, Kwanokuthula Crime Prevention Unit and Knysna CPU members conducted various operations at Kwanokuthula and Knysna respectively. The team arrested 14 suspects on charges of possession of dangerous weapon, possession of drugs as well as one for selling of liquor without a licence. Police confiscated small quantities of drugs, various brands of liquor and sharp objects.

All arrested suspects aged between 26 and 47 are expected to appear in various courts once charged.

These arrests forms part of continued efforts to curb crime incidents mostly reported in these areas over weekends.
