Education Minister meets UK ambassador

United Kingdom Ambassador to Tunisia Helen Winterton stated at a meeting with Education Minister Mohamed Ali Boughdiri Tuesday, the readiness of the British side to support the Ministry of Education in its projects and approaches, especially in technical education, training of English- language teachers and addressing school dropout.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Education, Gender and Equality Directorate (EdGE) at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the latter’s Special Envoy for Gender Equality, Alicia Herbert, who is visiting Tunisia on May 15 and 16.

It discussed the reality of cooperation between Tunisia and UK in the field of global partnership for education.

Alicia Herbert had stressed at a meeting with Minister of Family, Women, Children and the Seniors, Amal Belhaj Moussa, Monday her country’s keenness to support Tunisia in its efforts to strengthen mechanisms and programmes aimed at improving the status of women, protecting them from violence and enhancing their employability.
