Filling the vacancies within the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) was the focus of a meeting between President Kais Saied and the head of the ISIE, Farouk Bouasker, at the Carthage Palace on Monday.
The vacancies will soon be filled on the basis of efficiency and integrity before the writ for the election of members of the National Council of Regions and Districts is issued, the presidency said in a statement.
It pointed out that a draft decree has been prepared regarding the division of electoral districts and the determination of the number of seats allocated to them for the election of members of this council, in addition to the writ.
The meeting stressed the need for strict application of the law to ensure that elections are a genuine expression of the will of the electorate.
According to the same source, the need to deal with the corrupt money that appears, especially at each election date, was also emphasised.
