Lockdown II yielded success when they arrested suspects in possession of drugs and prohibited firearms and ammunition

WESTERN CAPE – The efforts of members of Lockdown II yielded positive results when conducting focus operations on Monday, 10 January 2022.

The members responded to information pertaining illegal activities at a dwelling in Ninth Avenue in Eikendal, Kraaifontein. The information was operationalised, after which the convoy approached the identified address. Upon searching the premises an unknown 9mm pistol and ammunition, a consignment of drugs and cash were confiscated. Three suspects aged 18, 21 and 33 respectively were arrested and detained on charges of possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs.

In an unrelated matter, the police members pursued information and conducted a search at a home in Davids Street, Laingville in St Helena Bay, which resulted in the recovery of a 9mm pistol and ammunition. A 35-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

Once charged they are expected to make their court appearance in the Blue Downs and Vredenburg Magistrate courts respectively on the mentioned charges.
