Public Works Hosts Operation Phakisa: Oceans Economy summit

Please receive the attached invite from Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi, MP, for the Public Works two day Oceans economy summit to be held on 27 and 28 June 2018 at the Hemmingways hotel, East London. The event will be held at 08h00-16h00.

The aim of the summit is to attract investment to unlock further economic opportunities in coastal areas.

The DPW and the National Treasury, have developed a New Letting Out Framework for state owned small harbours and coastal properties. The New Letting Framework offers a more progressive method of collecting revenue and further addresses the empowerment of local SMME’s, cooperatives, women, youth and persons with disabilities.

The summit will also provide the Department, the Eastern Cape Province and Coastal Municipalities a platform to showcase their properties to potential investors and allow for the submission of Expression of Interests (EOIs).

Your attendance and coverage will be highly appreciated.
