Pair nabbed for school burglary

DURBAN – The complainant alleged that on 26 March 2021 at 13:00, she left the primary school in Umzimkhulu well secured with all the windows and doors locked and left.

When she returned on the morning of 29 March 2021, she noticed that the school was broken into. Three computers, grass cutters and other belongings were stolen. A case of burglary was opened at Umzimkhulu police station. Yesterday morning, the detectives from the Umzimkhulu SAPS followed up information regarding the suspects involved in a burglary at a school. The investigation led them to Nyaka area where two suspects aged 21 and 23 were placed under arrest.

The suspects were found in possession of two computers and two brush cutters that were stolen at a school. More arrests are expected as investigation unfolds. The suspects are appearing before the Umzimkhulu Magistrates’ Court today.
