Police air wave campaigns reaching out to local communities

In an effort to strengthen the existing partnership with the community and sensitise them on a number of crime and social related topics, SAPS Members in Limpopo ensure that awareness campaigns become a norm and in some instances through their local radios.

This was seen in Mokopane outside Polokwane today when Ms Nancy Ramohlale, the cluster CPF Chairperson led by Mahwelereng Cluster Communication Officer, Warrant Officer Chokwe and Mokopane Communication Officer, Sergeant Masingi visited the Community radio station Mokopane FM.

The CPF Chairperson was given a platform where she warned the community about illegal gatherings and protests, barricading of roads, burning and damaging of properties.

The sentence passed by the Polokwane High Court to four men found guilty of murdering a man during mob killing who was accused of house breaking in the Phalaborwa policing area.

The mentioned sentence was given as an example to those who still think they can take the law into their hands.

The program was ended with police sharing crime hints such as dangers of substance abuse and driving under the influence of liquor.
