President Kais Saied met on Monday afternoon at Carthage Palace with Minister of Interior Kamel Feki, Director General of Internal Security Mourad Saidane and Director General and Commander of the National Guard Hassine Gharbi.
The meeting stressed the need for all state bodies to continue to work together to combat monopolies and illegal speculation, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic. This is in addition to “confronting those who, by creating crises, are conducting a disguised electoral campaign behind which there are well-known lobbies that believe they are above the law and cannot be held accountable”, according to the same source.
On the other hand, the President of the Republic stressed the need to prepare well for the start of the school and university year, in particular by ensuring the safety of students around schools and universities through constant police patrols.
The meeting also discussed the need to put an end to the spread of drugs and, in particular, to dismantle smuggling and trafficking networks.
