Cases of violence against women and children registered with security units increased by 4.33 percent in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2022.
The number of registered cases of violence against women and children during the first six months of this year reached 26,956 cases, according to statistics published by the General Directorate of National Security.
20,381 cases of violence against women and 6,575 cases of violence against children were registered in that period.
According to the type of abuse, physical violence is the most common form of violence against women and children, accounting for 59 per cent of cases, followed by moral violence at 29 per cent, economic violence at 6 per cent and cyber violence at the end.
