Safer Schools Campaign conducted at schools in Groblersdal policing areas in Limpopo

In Dennilton outside Groblersdal, the police embarked on a Safer Schools campaign at Fawcett Mathebe senior phase and Paledi Primary School in Dennilton policing area.

Constable Masombuka, the social crime coordinator hosted the Safer Schools campaign in collaboration with various role players including the VEP officials and YCOP members.

Constable Masombuka addressed 400 learners from Fawcett Mathebe Senior Phase and 53 learners from Paledi Primary School on the following topics:

*bullying

*carrying of dangerous weapons

*theft

*drugs

*domestic violence

*school vandalism

*rape

*criminal record.

Ms Tholakele Mahlangu addressed the learners about victim empowerment services that they offer at the Victim Empowerment Centre.

Ycop Thabo Makitla encouraged the learners to engage actively in sporting activities and to be youth against crime.

Innocent Mahlangu and Dipuo Ramoshaba addressed the learners motivating them to focus on their studies, respect each other and steer away from crime. Pamphlets containing safety tips were distributed.
