The Federal Bureau of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) on Monday approved the proposal by the National Technical Directorate to create a Tunisian federal football academy in Paris, provided the appropriate legal form is found.
The FTF said it had decided to set up a legal committee to study the legal aspects of setting up a Tunisian federal football academy for Tunisians living abroad, in coordination with the relevant government bodies and the Tunisian embassy in Paris.
According to the FTF, the aim of this project is to create a football academy for Tunisians living abroad between the ages of 5 and 12, on condition that those enrolled in the academy wear the uniform of the Tunisian national team and that training courses are organised to select and attract young Tunisian players living abroad, with the possibility of creating a sales outlet for the uniforms of the national team.
In addition, the Federal Bureau has decided to consult the FIFA on the creation of two new structures: The League of Elite Youth Championship and a League of Private Academies.
