Somali Prime Minister Calls for Increased Efforts to Fight Corruption

In a recent meeting with Directors and General Managers of the Government, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre reiterated the government’s focus on fighting corruption. He emphasized accountability as a top priority and urged officials to deliver results in line with the government’s efforts to increase transparency in administration and management. During his speech, the Prime Minister identified Al-Shabaab terrorism and corruption as the two major enemies of the Somali people. He called for a more serious war against corruption and inefficiency, similar to the open war waged against terrorism. The goal of these efforts is to eliminate corruption and promote clean governance in Somalia. The Prime Minister’s strong stance against corruption has been welcomed by many who see it as a necessary step towards building a more prosperous and stable future for the country.
