Suspects sought for armed robbery at a Matatiele store

The SAPS in Matatiele are appealing to members of the community for assistance with information on the four(4)  suspects who robbed a store in Matatiele yesterday, 31 October 2018 at about 18:20.

It is alleged that 4 suspects entered the Matatiele store whilst their faces were hidden with caps yesterday when the store was about to close for the day. One of them (suspects) forcibly entered first, pretending to have left an item which he purchased, in the shop mistakenly and he needed to collect it from inside the shop.

After he managed to push back the security guard at the door, he got inside the shop and others quickly followed him. When inside the shop, one of them, ordered the shop manager at gunpoint to go to the cash office and show him where the money is kept whist the other (suspects) were inside the shop keeping a watch after the employees took cover for safety.

Inside the cash office, the suspect took the undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. No persons were injured.

A case of business robbery is being investigated.
