Tunisia’s exports to the European Union (71% of total exports) rose by 14.1% in the first nine months of the year. This is due to the rise in exports to several partners such as France (+9.2%), Italy (+18.7%), Germany (+13.8%), Spain (+32.8%) and the Netherlands (+19.6%), according to the report on foreign trade at current prices published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Among the Arab countries, exports to Algeria and Libya rose by 28.3% and 9.6% respectively, while exports to Egypt and Morocco fell by 25.2% and 7.9% respectively. Imports from the European Union (43.4% of total imports) fell by 7.5% to TND 25,807.3 million. Imports from France went down by 4%, from Italy by 14.7% and from Spain by 16.2%. On the other hand, imports from Germany increased by 17.4% and from the Netherlands by 25.5%. Outside the European Union, imports from Russia rose by 137.3%, Ukraine (+71.5%), Switzerland (+10.7%) and the United Kingdom (+15.6%), while imports from Turkey fell by 27%, China (-6.8%) and the United States (-16.4%).
