Wanted murder suspect nabbed in Gauteng

DURBAN- KwaMakhutha police arrested a 38-year-old suspect for murder at his hideout at Jules Street, Jeppestown in the Gauteng province. It is alleged that on 13 May 2019, Gugu Mdletshe was severely assaulted by a known suspect and was taken to hospital for medical attention where she succumbed to her injuries. A case of murder was opened at KwaMakhutha police station for investigation.

The suspect fled the area after the incident and went into hiding. An intensive investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of the suspect. He was brought back to KwaMakhutha police station for detention. He will be charged for murder and will appear in the Nsimbini Magistrates Court on 3 June 2019.

The suspect was released on parole two months ago. In April 2013, he was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment for the murder of his then girlfriend, Nomfundo Mthembu whom he fatally assaulted in June 2012.
