MAAKE – The local police embarked on a community outreach programme to engage through active dialogue with the community on various issues. The programme was conducted at Batlhabine Tribal Authority in Ga-Mogoboya village under the Maake policing area on Tuesday 18 October 2022.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Topics of deliberations included gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), teenage pregnancy, financial problems, procedure to apply for a protection order, statutory rape and the importance of education.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition, assault common, Social Grant Services, fake adverts on social media, safety tips at ATM’s, participation in sporting activities especially by the youth, peer pressure and teaching a boy child to love and respect the feminine gender.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The campaign was in partnership with the external stakeholders comprising of the Love life and Relebogile Legal Project, Department of Social Development, Health, Home Affairs, Local Government and SASSA.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SAPS Maake was represented by the Social Crime Prevention Coordinator, Sergeant Patji, Victim Empowerment Center (VEP) official, Sergeant Malatji and Communication Officer Sergeant Shikwambane.<\/p>\n
