Gauteng Provincial Government visits families\u00a0of Health workers following the tragic truck\u00a0explosion in Boksburg<\/p>\n

The Gauteng Provincial Government led by Premier Panyaza\u00a0Lesufi will this morning visit the families of health workers who\u00a0demised following the fatal gas truck explosion in Boksburg on\u00a0Christmas eve.<\/p>\n

The provincial government will use the visit to the families to\u00a0convey messages of condolences and to discuss the support\u00a0government agencies working with civil society organisations\u00a0continue to provide to affected families including logistical\u00a0arrangements for memorial services and burial.<\/p>\n

The tragic incident of 24 December 2022 in the Ekurhuleni town\u00a0of Boksburg has left untold suffering among families and society\u00a0at large as the nation comes to term with the impact of the\u00a0explosion. This caused extensive damage to private and public
\ninfrastructure with 18 deaths to date, 9 of which are healthcare\u00a0workers who were based at Tambo Memorial Hospital including\u00a0many other people who suffered severe injuries.<\/p>\n
