Tunis: Standard Sharing Software (3S) and EO Data Center on Thursday were awarded the Government Cloud Computing Service Provider - G-Cloud label. The awarding of this label is part of the implementation of the provisions of Decree-Law no. 2023-17 of March 11, 2023, on cyber security, and the decision of the Minister of Communications Technologies dated September 13, 2023, on the procedures and conditions for awarding, renewing and withdrawing the G-Cloud and N-Cloud labels. Next Step IT was the first company in Tunisia to obtain the N-Cloud label in April 2024. The National Cybersecurity Agency awards the National Cloud Computing Service Provider (N-Cloud) label or the Government Cloud Computing Service Provider (G-Cloud) label to any Tunisian hosting service provider belonging to the public or private sector that supplies at least one of the cloud computing services, complies with international standards in the cybersecurity field, and is able to provide a 24/7 support and technical assistance service fo r the structures benefiting from the cloud services, etc. To qualify for the G-Cloud label, the hosting service provider must be connected to the government's integrated national network and the national interoperability platform. As part of the 2025 national digital strategy, the introduction of the N-Cloud and G-Cloud labelling system will provide a framework for national cloud projects and enable cloud-based resources and solutions to be effectively leveraged, as well as guaranteeing digital sovereignty and bringing a sovereign cloud offering to the market. It also helps securely extend the perimeter of the N-Cloud and the G-Cloud, and improve the capacity and quality of hosting applications and services on a national scale. The Cloud Computing system helps rationalise energy consumption, reduce the production of electronic waste, strengthen cybersecurity and implement public policies in the technological field. The system also enables start-ups to launch new, innovative services with high added value at lower cost, and reap the benefits of the enormous capacity for rapid data storage and processing offered by cloud services.
