Tunis: karateka Houcemeddine Chouaya won Tunisia's first gold medal at the African Games in Accra, Ghana, after defeating Thursday Kumite (+84 Kg) world champion Egyptian Mahmoud Taha Tarek (Egypt). Tunisian Wafa Mahjoub took silver in female kumite (-61 kg) along with her countrywoman Wissal Ezzar (-68 kg). Chahnaz Jami (+68 kg) won a bronze medal. In table tennis, the women's team made up of Fadwa Garsi, Abir Haj Salah and Maram Zoghlami won the bronze medal after losing to Egypt's (0-3) in semi-finals. Men's team, made up of Khalil Sta, Youssef Ben Attia and Wassim essid, snatched bronze after suffering defeat in the semi-final to Nigeria (1-3). Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
