The Afghan caretaker government's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has inked four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with leading aid agencies to assist thousands of displaced and returnees in Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. The total budget for the signed MoUs reaches 8.97 million U.S. dollars, benefiting over 2,760 families and 13,500 people, the statement added. About 1.8 million Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland from Pakistan, Iran, and other countries over the past year, official data showed in August. Source: The Namibia News Agency
