Tunis: Decree No. 2024-440 of July 18, 2024, deploying a military air transport unit in the Central African Republic under the flag of the United Nations was published, Tuesday, in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Tunisia (JORT). The military unit consists of 75 Tunisian soldiers who will be deployed under the United Nations flag as part of providing support to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). The deployment of the military unit is set for a period of one year from July 1, 2024, renewable for an additional year. The unit is in charge of air transport missions of personnel and materials within the framework of the mandate of the MINUSCA mission. The JORT published two decrees in March 2024, as part of this mission. The first decree is related to the deployment of a light rapid intervention company «LQRF» in the Central African Republic under the flag of the United Nations while the second decree provides for an extension of the deployment of a light infantry battalion in the same country.
