Tunis: Speaker of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP), Brahim Bouderbala met, on Wednesday in Bardo, with Syria's ambassador in Tunis Mohamed Mohamed. Bouderbala reaffirmed at the meeting Tunisia's position in favour of Syria's reintegration into its Arab environment. He stressed the solidity of the long-standing fraternal relations between the two countries, which are a 'favourable ground for joint action and development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.' The Parliament Speaker welcomed Syria's return to the Arab League. He stressed that the stability of the region depends on stability and peace in Syria. Brahim Bouderbala went on to express his full support for Syria's legitimate right to regain the occupied Golan Heights and to eliminate the remaining hotbeds of terrorism. For his part, the Syrian diplomat said that despite the suspension of diplomatic relations under previous governments, relations between the two countries had never been severed, reflecting the privileged nature of the long-standing and historic relations between the two countries. He conveyed to Brahim Bouderbala the greetings of his Syrian counterpart, Youssef Sabbagh, who had invited him to visit Syria at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
