An authorisation to operate a photovoltaic solar-powered electricity generation plant with a capacity of 1 megawatt in the Djerba delegation (governorate of Médenine) was granted to the company "MES PROJECT," by virtue of a decree issued by the Prime Minister on January 11, 2024 and published on Tuesday in the Official Gazette of the Republic (JORT). The electricity generated will be sold entirely and exclusively to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG). The authorisation will be granted for a period of twenty years from the date of publication of this decree. It may be extended in accordance with the cases provided for by Government Decree No 2016-1123 of August 24, 2016 and the standard contract approved by the decree of the Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy of August 30, 2018, approving the revision of the standard contract for selling to STEG the electrical energy produced from renewable energy subject to authorisation.
