Bizerte commercial port traffic saw a steady increase in early 2024, as was the case in December 2023, a regional official told TAP. Two ships respectively loaded with 23,500 tonnes of wheat and 27,000 tonnes of maize docked Saturday at the Bizerte commercial port. A third ship which departed from Brazil loaded with 17,000 tonnes of white sugar for domestic and industrial consumption also docked Sunday at the port. A fourth ship loaded with nitrogen fertiliser is expected to arrive at the port by the end of next week. The resumption of operations at the Bizerte commercial port coincides with the resumption of normal traffic on the mobile bridge in Bizerte city, the official added.
