A small cabinet meeting, held Tuesday, in Kasbah, approved the implementation of a set of projects including the construction of a new air terminal as part of the extension project of Tunis-Carthage airport. The new terminal will be extended over a covered area of nearly 80,000 m2 and will have a capacity to accommodate 8 million travelers per year. As a result, the airport's capacity will be increased to 13 million passengers per year, reads a statement of the Prime Ministry, The extension project also provides for the expansion of the airport viaduct, the construction of a new control tower, the establishment of a railway line linking the airport to the city center and a second fast rail line, linking Tunis-Carthage airport to Enfidha-Hammamet airport, in addition to the construction of a metro line linking Lake Tunis to Bhar Lazreg. Chairing the small cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani underlined the importance of this extension project in reviving the national economy and boosting the countr y's development.
