A small cabinet meeting chaired, Monday in la Kasbah, by Prime Minister, Ahmed Hachani, focused on finding ways to revive the Russian tourism market in Tunisia. Both the Tourism Ministry and the Transport Ministry were called to take all necessary measures to increase the flow of Russian tourists during the next summer season. The meeting, which also examined a set of proposals put forward by the two ministries, was attended by Ministers of Finance, Economy, Trade, Tourism and Transport as well as the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad. Until the end of October 2023, about 21,506 Russian tourists visited Tunisia, the Tourism Ministry said. In 2019, nearly 630,000 Russian tourists travelled to Tunisia, the same source added.
