Minister for the Family, Women, Children and the Elderly Amel Belhaj Moussa on Thursday opened a capacity-building unit for parents of children with learning disabilities in Jendouba . The unit is intended to reduce the incidence of learning disabilities, the minister told TAP, considering that the problem is on a steep rise. She pointed out in this connection, that the ministry, in partnership with specialist associations, had launched a project aimed at building the capacities of parents and their children suffering from learning disabilities. Five such units have already been set up in the governorates of Jendouba, Béja, Kairouan, Médenine and Ariana, pending the opening of similar structures in other regions. These units will target some two thousand children and five thousand parents, who will receive assistance in coping with the difficulties they face in order to improve their school results, Belhaj Moussa specified, assuring that this experiment will be evaluated to ensure its success.
