Catholic Church Deacon makes maiden court appearance on murder charge at Rundu

Catholic Church Deacon at Nkurenkuru , 69 - year - old Markus Max Musongo , made his first appearance in the Rundu Magistrate ' s Court on Tuesday , where he faces four charges , including murder and assault . Musongo was arrested in the Kavango West Region on Monday at Siudiva Village for allegedly shooting his biological son , 31 - year - old Felix Musongo behind his head , neck and leg , leading to his death . Musongo , who appeared before magistrate Sonia Samupofu , is charged with murder read with the provisions of combating of domestic violence , assault , assault by threat and the discharge of a firearm . According to court documents , in addition to killing his son , Musongo allegedly assaulted his wife by slapping her , causing an injury , before threatening to shoot her . The accused remains in custody due to the severity of the charges against him . His case was postponed to 24 January 2025 . Public Prosecutor Michael Munika represented the State .
