The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamud Moalim Abdulle met with the Director for Foreign Development of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom, Mr. Damon Bristow on the sidelines of the Africa Climate Summit meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting focused on the current bilateral cooperation between the UK and Somalia in humanitarian assistance and development, and the preparations of the El Nino storm which is feared that it will affect more than one million people in the coming rainy season.

The Commissioner and his delegation also met with the Charge d’Affaires of Finland to Somalia and the head of cooperation of Finland.

The Government of Finland is one of Somalia’s donors and has a cooperation in development with Somalia, and assists Somalia in the fields of education, health, humanitarian assistance, and good governance.
