Tunis: The examining magistrate at the Tunis Court of First Instance, on Tuesday, issued a committal order against lawyer Sonia Dahmani, following a judicial investigation opened against her by the public prosecutor's office, said Mohamed Zitouna, spokesman for the court. Contacted by the TAP on Tuesday, Zitouna pointed out that the defendant had accused the Tunisian people of "racism" during her appearance on a television programme, adding that the investigation into the case was still ongoing. Sonia Dahmani had 'claimed that discriminatory practices exist in Tunisia on the basis of skin colour, which is considered 'spreading rumours, inciting violence and propagating hate speech between people', he said. Police officers on May 11 executed a summons against lawyer Sonia Dahmani while she was at the Lawyers' House in Tunis. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
