Boksburg: The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is working with other law enforcement agencies to re-apprehend an inmate who escaped from the Boksburg Correctional Centre. The inmate, Martin Jackson, escaped from custody on Wednesday. According to South African Government News Agency, the DCS confirmed the escape, stating that the incident occurred under circumstances currently under investigation. Correctional Services is actively collaborating with other law enforcement bodies to locate and apprehend Jackson. Jackson is serving a 20-year sentence for robbery, theft, and possession of a firearm with ammunition, having been incarcerated since April 2015. Correctional Services has mobilized resources and is committed to ensuring Jackson's rearrest and return to justice. The public is urged to remain vigilant and is encouraged to report any information regarding the escapee's whereabouts to the nearest police station or correctional facility. The department also advises the public not to approach the escapee if spotted, as he may be dangerous.
