An information day was held, on Tuesday, in Gabès with members of regional councils about completing the process of establishing the national council of regions and districts. The establishment of all councils should be completed during the first week of next April, said spokesperson for the Independent High Authority of Elections (ISIE) Mohamed Tlili Mnasri during this regional meeting, which brought together the governorates of the 5th district (Gabès, Medenine, Tatouine and Kébili). Speaking to journalists, the ISIE spokesperson said that the regional councils will be set up on March 6, adding that each regional council should elect a member to represent it on the district council. The ISIE is organizing, on Tuesday, regional meetings in the five districts with members of the regional councils, in the presence of members of the electoral body to review the next steps, including the election of members of the district councils and the election of members of the national council of regions and districts.
