Deputy President Mashatile to Lead Water Supply and Sustainability Initiatives in North West


Cape town: Deputy President Paul Mashatile will this week spearhead a service delivery outreach programme designed to improve water supply reliability for communities in the North West.



According to South African Government News Agency, the outreach is set to begin on Friday, 1 August 2025, with several activities planned across the municipalities. The programme will start with the official handover of a 25 megalitre capacity Moretele South Bulk Water Supply Scheme Water Reservoir at Dilopye village, aiming to bolster water supply reliability for local communities.



Deputy President Mashatile will also launch the Clean Cities and Towns campaign in Mogogelo village within the Moretele Local Municipality. This nationwide initiative seeks to foster cleaner, greener urban spaces while promoting sustainability and equality. During the campaign, the Deputy President and his team will interact with residents, providing updates on efforts to resolve service delivery challenges affecting local communities. A community meeting is scheduled at the Mogogelo Community Hall.



Additionally, on Saturday, 2 August, Deputy President Mashatile will officiate the launch of the provincial Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) at Orbit TVET College’s Mankwe Campus in the Moses Kotane Local Municipality. The HRDC brings together key stakeholders to support the country’s revised Human Resource Development Strategy 2030, which focuses on cultivating skills essential for economic growth, as stated by the Deputy President’s Office.
