Domestic worker allegedly rapes and impregnates minor girl at Oniipa

The Namibian Police Force ( NamPol ) in the Oshikoto Region has recorded a case of rape after a 21 - year - old man allegedly raped and impregnated a 14 - year - old Namibian girl . According to NamPol ' s acting regional commander , Deputy Commissioner Wynand Neels on Tuesday , the incident happened during August 2024 at unknown date and time at Onalulago village in Oshitutuma area in the Oshikoto ' s Oniipa constituency . The victim is in Grade 8 at a local school . " It is alleged that the suspect , who live in the same house with the victim as a domestic worker , had sexual intercourse with the victim on several occasions ," reported Neels . He further added that it is alleged that the same suspect used to give the victim money in exchange of sex and warned her not to tell anyone about their sexual acts . " The incident come to be known by the victim ' s mother on 08 October 2024 , when she confronted the victim and when the mother checked in the health passport of the victim and saw that the victim visit ed the hospital on 21 September 2024 where she was tested pregnant positive ," added Neels . The matter was then reported to the police on Monday . The suspect has not been arrested as he allegedly fled at the end of September after he was paid . Source: The Namibia Press Agency
