An earth tremor measuring 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on Thursday February 1, 2024 at 8.02 am (local time) in the Gulf of Gabès, the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) announced. The epicentre of the tremor was located at 34.11 degrees latitude and 10.21 degrees longitude, north-east of the Ghannouch region (Gabès governorate), according to preliminary analyses carried out by the INM's seismological stations.
