An earth tremor measuring 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on January 24, 2024 at 00:42 (local time) in the north-west of the governorate of Kairouan, the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) announced. The epicentre of the tremor was located at 35.77 degrees latitude and 9.98 degrees longitude, north-west of the delegation of north Kairouan, according to preliminary analyses of the INM's seismological stations.
