A 45 - year - old livestock farmer was on Sunday arrested after he was allegedly found with 14 Bonsmara cattle which were reported missing from the Omantumba farm in the Hochfeld area of the Okahandja district . Namibian Police Force head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region , Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha in an interview with Nampa on Sunday said the cattle might have been stolen between Friday night and Saturday morning . ' The suspects allegedly loaded the 14 cattle from Omantumba farm , and upon receiving information the Hochfeld police together with an anti - poaching organisation set up an intelligence driven operation , which resulted in the arrest of the key suspect ,' said Mbeha . According to Mbeha the 14 Bonsmara stud cattle valued at approximately N . dollars 426 000 , were then recovered from the suspect , while four other suspects managed to run away during the operation . The recovered cattle were positively identified , and handed back to the owner , said Mbeha , adding that a tru ck and a sedan suspected to have been used in committing the alleged stock theft incident , were impounded at the Hochfeld Police Station . The suspect is expected to appear on a stock theft charge in the Okahandja Magistrate ' s Court on Monday . Police investigations continue. Source: The Namibia News Agency
