A public prosecution has been initiated against Chen Yuxiang, a former anti-graft official in north China's Hebei Province, on suspicion of receiving bribes. Chen, who formerly served as a deputy head of Hebei's discipline inspection commission and provincial commission of supervision, was arrested this July. Designated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), the Lianyungang Municipal People's Procuratorate in east China's Jiangsu Province recently filed a lawsuit against Chen with the Intermediate People's Court of Lianyungang, according to an SPP statement released Monday. The lawsuit comes following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision into Chen's case. Chen has been charged by the procuratorate with abusing the various positions he formerly held to secure benefits for others, and illegally accepting substantial bribes in the form of money and valuables.
