Forty Tunisians have gone missing off Sfax coasts, in an unauthorised migration attempt. National Guard units are actively searching for them, according to a statement released by the National Guard on Tuesday. The missing individuals had departed from the Tunisian shores bound for Italy on January 10 at night. The National Guard confirmed having received information indicating that individuals were involved in an irregular migration attempt towards Italy from the coast of Sfax. Families alerted authorities after losing contact with their relatives, while authorities have deployed maritime and aerial patrols in the quest to locate them, according to the same source.
