Durban: Four people have been rescued from the scene of a building collapse in Durban on Saturday, the KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department said.
According to South African Government News Agency, the four individuals were successfully extricated and have received medical attention. The department extended wishes for a speedy recovery to all those affected by the incident.
The rescue operation took place after the provincial Disaster Management Centre deployed disaster management teams to the scene. The teams worked to ensure the safe removal of those trapped in the collapsed structure.
The department mentioned that further details will be communicated as more information becomes available. They also advised the public to avoid the affected area on Union Lane to ensure safety and facilitate the ongoing operations.
