Gabes: On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the "Stop Pollution" movement issued a statement on Tuesday criticising the handling of the environmental file in Gabes, which "undermines the gains and struggles of the residents and the social and environmental movements". The movement demanded the disclosure of the results of the investigations and reports on the gas leaks in Ghannouch, the outcome of the lawsuit filed by the parents of the students affected, and the issue of the dismantling of the industrial units of the Tunisian Chemical Group (GCT). It stressed the need for the immediate resumption of the work of all the committees set up for this purpose. The movement called on all living forces and inhabitants to be vigilant and reject dangerous deviations in the environmental file. It announced the organisation of a march in Gabes on Wednesday with the participation of more than 300 activists from different states of the Republic. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
