Government activities for the week 7 – 11 October 2024

On Monday, 7 October, President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver a keynote address at the Olympic and Paralympics Sponsors' Dinner at the Sandton Convention Centre. On Monday, 7 October, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture hosts the 2024 Annual National Oral History Conference at the Emakhosini Conference Centre in Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal. The conference will conclude on 11 October. On Tuesday, 8 October, the Department of Employment and Labour hosts an Inspectors Employment Standards Conference to discuss maximum compliance to employment and labour laws. The conference will conclude on 10 October. On Tuesday, 8 October, the Minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy, will attend the official opening of a Germiston Rail line. On Wednesday, 9 October, the Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen, will launch the National Food and Nutrition Security Survey in Pretoria. On Wednesday, 9 October, the Minister of Employment and Labour, Nomakhosazana Meth, Deputy Ministers Sibiya and Mgcina host an Inspections and Enforcement Conference in Durban. The conference will conclude on 10 October. On Thursday, 10 October, the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Velenkosini Hlabisa, leads the commemoration of the International Day for Disaster Reduction in Polokwane, Limpopo.
