Grain harvest down by over 30% in Ariana compared with 2022/2023 season

Grain harvest for the 2022-2023 season is expected to be down by over 30% compared with the previous season, with 126,000 quintals compared with 185,000 quintals for the 2021-2022 season, according to the estimates of the Ariana Local Authority for Agricultural Development (CRDA).

According to CRDA figures, the 2022-2023 grain harvest is made up of 94130 quintals of durum wheat, 5800 quintals of soft wheat, 23640 quintals of barley and 2320 quintals of triticale.

This drop is due to low rainfall in the period between September 2022 and May 2023.
