Tunis: Nearly 400 athletes from 30 associations will participate in the Paralympic Day, which will be held at the Gafsa Sports Palace on Saturday, May 18, said President of the Tunisian National Paralympic Committee (French: CNPT), Mohamed Mezoughi. «The main goal of the event is to develop and promote Paralympic sports in the Tunisia's inland regions, including boccia, badminton, para archery, para judo, paratriathlon and table tennis,» Mezoughi told TAP, adding that the event targets four regions: Gafsa, Gabes, Sidi Bouzid and Tozeur. The CNPT will provide the participating associations with sports equipment which will help their members develop their abilities. Paralympic Day is organized in coordination with several National Federations, including taekwondo, weightlifting, triathlon, archery, shooting, table tennis, judo, rowing, badminton and sports for the disabled.
