Gauteng: The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Velenkosini Hlabisa, is set to hold a follow-up meeting with the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (CONTRALESA) on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. This important meeting will be hosted at the Southern Sun located at OR Tambo International Airport. According to South African Government News Agency, this meeting is a continuation of a previous engagement that took place on 5 December 2025. The initial meeting, which included President Cyril Ramaphosa and CONTRALESA, was also attended by Minister Hlabisa. The upcoming meeting is intended to further discuss issues brought up during the earlier meeting. The follow-up discussion is expected to delve deeper into topics concerning traditional and Khoi-San leadership. The focus will be on their roles within the framework of cooperative governance, addressing specific concerns that were identified in the previous meeting.
