Kais Saied: Tunisia will remain peaceful and safe despite vain attempts to destabilise it

Tunisia will remain a peaceful and safe country despite vain attempts to destabilise it, President of the Republic Kais Saied said on Wednesday, while presiding over the National Security Council held in light of the aggression that took place the day before in Djerba near the Ghriba. The state is standing, it is strong of its institutions that work, its armed forces and the vigilance and lucidity of its people, he added, denouncing “a cowardly and heinous criminal act. He added that “anyone who doubts the capacity of the state is mistaken”. All Tunisians are well aware of the plans of these criminals who are revealed more and more each day, said the President of the Republic who insisted on the commitment to preserve peace and stability in the country and within the Tunisian society. He recalled that many countries in Europe and elsewhere have experienced similar acts. Thanks to the vigilance of our security forces and the army, the assailant did not succeed in reaching the Ghriba in a vain attempt to sow discord, undermine the tourist season and harm the state, he noted. He reaffirmed that we are determined to meet the expectations of Tunisians and build a future based on justice, freedom and national sovereignty. He reassured Tunisians and the whole world that no one will be able to undermine the security of Tunisia, a land of tolerance and living together. President Kais Saied offered his condolences to the mourning families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
