The two candidates in the run-off for the local elections in the Chrayaa constituency in the Sebitla delegation (governorate of Kasserine) launched their election campaigns. Saleh Salhi pledged to endeavour to unblock pending projects, develop the agricultural sector, improve drinking water connections, break the isolation of the local population by building new rural tracks and extending the public electricity network, while ensuring the creation of a youth centre or cultural centre, upgrading school infrastructure and setting up a unit to collect and distribute fertilisers and agricultural products. Candidate Mohamed Salhi promised for his part, to work to combat corruption, which is the main obstacle to progress and development, to ensure that the demands of the people of his locality are conveyed to the relevant authorities and to redouble his efforts to help farmers and develop this activity, which is the main source of income in his region. In the first round, the two candidates received 301 votes ( 36.84% of the vote) and 240 votes (29.38% of the vote), respectively. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
