Kasserine: Man loses leg in mine explosion in Djebel Mghila [Upd 1]

A 35-year-old man lost his leg on Monday following the explosion of a mine in the closed military zone in Djebel Mghila (Governorate of Kasserine), according to regional medical sources, TAP reported.

The man in question, originally from the municipality of “Ain Zayan” in the delegation of Sbiba, had entered the military zone in search of grazing for his sheep, according to eyewitnesses.

“The injured man’s health is stable after an ambulance was sent to provide the necessary care and transfer him to the regional hospital in Kasserine,” according to medical sources.

The injured man had been, sometime after the explosion, evacuated from the scene of the explosion with the help of some locals in the region of Ain Zayan, to the ambulance that was near the primary school of the town, relatives of the injured man reported to TAP.
