Kavango West Communal Land Board investigating nine illegal fencing cases

Nkurenkuru: The Kavango West Communal Land Board has since February this year recorded nine cases of fencing of communal land , eight of which are under investigation for alleged illegal fencing . Despite discussions on these cases , no final decisions have been taken yet , Kavango West Communal Land Board Deputy Director Justine Milinga told Nampa in an interview on Wednesday . Milinga said since February , the board has received reports of fences having been erected in the communal areas of Mamono , Simbungu , Maporeza , Katope , Kanguni , Karayi , Kasimba and Mupapara . The board has formed committees to thoroughly investigate the reported cases , gather evidence , and present the necessary facts as more evidence is required before the board can take appropriate action on the alleged illegal fences . The latest case has been reported in the Siurungu communal area , but will only be discussed at the board ' s next meeting scheduled for 01 November this year . Milinga said based on the findings of the invest igation committees , the fences found to be unlawfully erected will be removed . ' The transgressors will be notified to remove their illegal fences voluntarily . Failure to do so will result in the Kavango West Communal Land Board causing the actual removal of such fences . Where these fences are removed by the board , the fencing materials will be confiscated for auctioning to recover the expenses incurred during the process of removing ,' said the deputy director .
